Introduction
We were introduced to the concept of six thinking hats in which we would have an overall understanding of an issue, project or a situation. It is important to understand the situation from every perspective before making a decision. The Six Thinking Hats approach was created by Edward de Bono.
Individual Task
For the individual task, I searched the meaning of the' yellow hat' on the web and found information regarding its meaning and use and made notes. The examples mentioned on the site helped me understanding the purpose of the yellow hat better.
We then as a group combined our understanding in one miro board to present to the class.
Main Activity
For the main activity, we were given an object and we had to apply all 6 thinking hats. The object that was given to us was headphones. Each group explained the thinking hat that was assigned to them and their presentation helped us in understanding its meaning.
Reflection
This activity made me realize that it is important to carefully examine the entire situation before making a decision. We should look at all aspects and not just make decision based on only one aspect.
The importance of every hat was made clear by every group so that we could use it in our activity.
The use of black and yellow hat is something that I was unconsciously doing in the form of a pros and cons list.
As a group, we had an interesting conversation for the creative aspect i.e. the green hat and came up with many ideas.
