REFLECTIVE NOTE
Isometric type drawing is a type of 3D drawing where all the dimensions of the object are equal to. For eg. the length of the object will be equal at all points irrespective of the angle.
It is different from the perspective drawing that I had done in the past where the dimensions are modified with the perspective of the eye.
Differences
In Isometric drawing, all the dimensions are parallel to themselves. It is drawn on 3 axis with a 120 degree angle between each other.
In drawings that I have done in the past, there are no such axis that need to be followed and the object can reduce its size as it goes further away from the eye.
Need of Isometric Drawing
This type of drawing is idle for making models to get a better sense of the 3D object from one side.
The dimensions stay the same and can be very helpful as the measurements are clear from all angles and can help in better understanding of the model.
The isometric drawing can also show the measurements when two objects are placed together.
